Sage insights from our holistic financial planner

Do you feel ready to take a step forward in the direction of your dreams? Firstly, thank you for being brave enough to act on that feeling. The contents of Kath Orman’s new book ‘Attitude, Abundance & Action’ may challenge the way you currently think. However, ‘the teacher arrives when the student is ready’.

This book will assist you in analyzing all compartments of your life and give you direction. Like the arrows on the tarmac when the ground staff gives a plane direction – this way – you’re on the right path!

Did you know that everything you do in life is based on your past experiences, perceptions, influences and knowledge that has guided you to where you are today? Some of those experiences may have been wonderful and have provided a fantastic grounding. Perhaps some of them haven’t been the best and you want to change the direct of your future. Or perhaps the influences have been so subtle, you are not even aware of the beliefs and attitudes you hold deep inside of you. Some of these beliefs may be holding you back and getting in the way of living the life you imagined when you were a child.

It can be a shock sometimes to wake up one morning and realise that you are 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70+ and aren’t where you’d expected you would be. Sound familiar?

Did you know that the thoughts you think and the words you use, determine your journey in life? Be careful what you think, because YOU are listening.

When you watch young children at play – they are so full of life, joy and exuberance. So quickly they are directed to conform, sit still in a class room, behave, don’t do this, don’t do that. That beautiful energy is zapped out of them and often creativity is squashed. They have visions of being a dancer/ astronaut/ fireman or an actor when they grow up. Depending upon their environment, they will either follow through with those dreams, change direction or simply give up and settle for less.

Often, this is because someone in their life made a comment, “You’ll never be any good as a dancer/actor/doctor” and they believed them. Can you relate to this? Have you squashed your dreams and allowed the path of so called ‘normality’ to overtake your journey?

Kath has seen this on many occasions, working with a broad range of people and finds it so sad. However, her plan is for you to read this entire book, be open and receptive to changing the way you think, reconnect with your dreams and live the life you REALLY want to. “Too hard” you say? Well that thinking is exactly what has got you to where you are right now.
